Amavasya is one of the most significant day in Sanatan Dharma. The day holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. People perform various puja rituals to appease ancestors or forefathers and conduct puja for their salvation. The day is highly auspicious to appease them and seek their blessings. Surya Arghya

Feed Brahmin
This is another powerful ritual which people usually perform tpo appease their ancestors and for that they invite a Brahmin priest at home to perform pitru tarpan and after completing the ritual feed that brahmin, offer him clothes and dakshina.
Pind Daan
The day is powerful to perform pind daan because Amavasya is usually dedicated to ancestors only.
Worship peepal tree
This is one of the most important and powerful ritual you can perform on this auspicious day to appease ancestors and Shani dev also. For that, you can light a mustard oil diya beneath the peepal tree and offer black urad, black sesame seeds and jaggery under that tied in a black cloth.
Feed Crows/cows/ants
People should definitely feed anst, crows and cows on this particular day as cow represents the prosperity and it is believed that 33 types of deities reside inside the cow so one must feed them, crows represent ancestors so one must feed them too and ants remove shani related issues so you must feed them also.
