Shah Rukh Khan has become the sole owner of the Delhi residence where he and wife Gauri Khan began their married life. The actor has acquired the second and third floors of the property in South Delhi’s upscale Panchsheel Park, adding to the basement and first floor that he already owned. The property carries deep emotional significance for the couple, as it was their first home after their marriage in 1991, before Shah Rukh relocated to Mumbai to pursue acting full-time. The latest acquisition is valued at around Rs 37 crore, giving Shah Rukh ownership of the entire building, according to a report by Moneycontrol. Built on a 1,200-square-yard plot (around 10,800 square feet), the residence is situated in one of South Delhi’s most prestigious neighbourhoods. As per the report, the deal was valued at approximately Rs 37 crore, with the underlying land estimated at nearly Rs 34,260 per square foot.Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan got married on October 25, 1991, through three ceremonies held on the same day—a registered civil marriage, a traditional Hindu wedding and a Nikah.Over the years, Gauri has spoken fondly about the home and the memories attached to it. In an earlier interview with iDiva, she explained that she designed the house as a space to preserve the family’s journey together.“Our Delhi home is almost 20 years old. As many know, I am from Delhi and have lived a major part of my life here, so I thought it would be a great idea to buy and design a home close to my mom’s house. The idea was to have all our memories under one roof. Over the years, we travelled and collected so many things and memories—with the kids, with Shah Rukh and me—and I wanted all of it to stay together. That is what my Delhi home became,” she had said.Gauri also shared that every corner of the residence reminds her of different chapters of their family’s life together, making it much more than just a house.
