Woman held on charge of nephew’s murder in Pune | Pune News

Pune: The Sangvi police, on Sunday, arrested a 52-year-old woman on the charge of bludgeoning her 30-year-old nephew to death. The murder occurred at Pimple Gurav in the early hours of Sunday. Police said the murder was the fallout of a property dispute.Inspector Amol Nandekar of the Sangvi police said the accused works with a housekeeping firm. She had purchased a plot in the Laxminagar area of Pimple Gurav, and had borrowed money from her sister to construct a house on the plot.“The deceased, who was her sister’s son, was harassing her to transfer the ownership of the house to his name,” Nandekar said.He added that on Sunday, the nephew allegedly kicked open the door of his aunt’s house. Enraged by this, she went to his house, where he was allegedly drunk. She kicked him, smashed his head with a stone, and slit his throat with a sharp weapon.“We have arrested the woman, and further investigations are underway,” Nandekar said.
