BENGALURU: A family dispute allegedly linked to unpaid loans turned into a horrifying triple murder in Bengaluru’s KR Puram area, where a woman and her live-in partner are accused of stabbing her parents and younger sister inside their apartment late Monday night.The victims have been identified as Somasundar (55), a software engineer, his wife Muttulakshmi (48), and their younger daughter Supriya (20), an undergraduate student. The alleged attack took place at their residence in Seegehalli, KR Puram.Police said the accused are Somasundar and Muttulakshmi’s elder daughter Shwetha and her boyfriend Kenneth, both software engineers by profession. The couple allegedly attacked the family following an argument over financial issues and later fled the scene, according to investigators.Preliminary investigation has revealed that Shwetha and Kenneth had reportedly taken loans from multiple banks and were facing difficulties repaying their EMIs. Bank notices issued in Shwetha’s name allegedly reached her parents’ residence in Ramamurthynagar, following which the family confronted the couple over the issue.Police said Somasundar, Muttulakshmi and Supriya had gone to meet Shwetha and Kenneth to discuss the loan-related matter. A heated argument allegedly broke out during the meeting, after which the accused couple allegedly stabbed the three family members.According to police, Muttulakshmi and Supriya collapsed inside the apartment after the attack, while Somasundar managed to come out of the flat but fell on the staircase in an injured condition.Neighbours alerted the police control room after noticing the commotion. Somasundar, before succumbing to his injuries, reportedly told police that the family had visited Shwetha’s residence to discuss the loan issue and related matters.Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to trace the accused couple and establish the exact sequence of events leading to the alleged killings.
