'GPS tracker, secret hotel booking': Murder case filed against Vizag techie's husband in Mussoorie homestay death
A murder case has been registered against a techie, Somayajula Sricharan, in Uttarakhand following the mysterious death of his wife, Parupudi Radha Gayatri, a Vizag native, at a homestay.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Days after the death of techie Parupudi Radha Gayatri (27) under mysterious circumstances at a homestay near Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, with suspicion falling on her husband Somayajula Sricharan, the Dehradun police have registered a murder case against him under section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Gayatri, a native of Vizag, was found dead at the homestay on June 15 while on vacation with Sricharan, a techie with Deloitte in Pune. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Gayatri’s father Parupudi Sudhakar, who raised suspicions regarding his son-in-law’s actions and alleged prior harassment.Sudhakar had filed a detailed complaint, accusing Sricharan of murder and alleging that he mentally harassed Gayatri and tracked her movements using a GPS device kept in her bag.It may be recalled that Sricharan on Saturday ruled out the allegations against him, saying that the post-mortem report would reveal the exact reason for her death.Sudhakar had lodged a complaint in Visakhapatnam and later met DGP and IG of Uttarakhand, demanding a comprehensive inquiry as Sricharan’s behaviour and his conversation after Gayatri’s death raised suspicions.Though Sricharan claimed that he and his wife consumed red wine at the homestay, Gayatri’s family and friends said she never consumed alcohol and did not suffer from low BP as was being alleged.Family members also pointed out that Sricharn told Gayatri that they would be visiting Rishikesh, but booked a room in Mussoorie without informing her. They also said Sricharan appointed a lawyer in Mussorie on June 15, the day Gayatri died.Sudhakar dismissed Sricharan’s claim that Gayatri had suffered a brain stroke citing that she was absolutely healthy. Police sources said Sricharan absconded from the place in Vizag where he stayed, while Uttarakhand police said Sricharan managed the situation at Mussoorie and fabricated the facts.Uttarakhand DGP Deepam Seth assured Sudhakar that police will investigate the case from all angles to serve justice to the victim’s family. The Uttarakhand police assured the family that they would take Sricharan in custody and interrogate him.
