AHMEDABAD: A 26-year-old woman has filed a complaint with Sola police alleging that a man known to her family stabbed her in the leg after she rejected his demand to have a sexual relationship with him.According to the FIR registered on Tuesday, the woman was staying at her mother’s residence in the Vasantnagar area of Gota while her mother was out of town. The complainant told police that the man visited the house on June 12.While the two were talking, the woman’s husband allegedly arrived, and suspecting an inappropriate relationship between them, got into an argument with the visitor. The man later left the premises, as did the woman’s husband.The complainant stated that she was alone at the house when the man returned and advised her not to stay there until her mother came back, saying that her husband had misunderstood the situation.He allegedly offered to arrange alternative accommodation for her and booked a room at a hotel near the Vaishnodevi-Ognaj Road.Police said the woman was taken to the hotel in the early hours of June 13. Later that afternoon, the accused allegedly visited her with food and remained in the room.According to the complaint, during a conversation in the evening, the man allegedly asked her to enter into a sexual relationship with him. When she refused, he allegedly became aggressive, abused her, and kept pressuring her. The woman then called the man’s wife and informed her about his demand.Enraged by the call, the accused allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman in her right leg, causing serious injuries.The wife of the accused subsequently reached the hotel and took the injured woman to Sola Civil Hospital, where doctors treated her injury.Based on the complaint, Sola police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations.
